Utrecht 3-1 Willem II result, stats and report

Feyenoord dismantled Utrecht with a dominant 5-0 victory at De Kuip, with Anis Hadj Moussa scoring twice and Utrecht offering almost nothing in response. This was a performance that told you everything you need to know about the gap between these two sides right now.

Philip Brittijn's 79th-minute strike gave Fortuna Sittard a 1-0 win at Willem II, condemning the hosts to a fourth defeat in their last five Eredivisie matches and leaving serious questions about their ability to compete at this level.

Ajax put Willem II to the sword with a commanding 5-1 win at home, with two goals before the break setting the platform for a second-half rout that exposed every weakness in the visitors' defensive standards.

Utrecht claimed a 2-1 victory at Excelsior in the Eredivisie despite being outworked for large portions of the match, with Dani de Wit's stoppage-time finish settling it after Aymen Sliti had equalised for the hosts.

AZ Alkmaar dominated possession and created chance after chance but could not hold on, as Willem II snatched a deserved point through Devin Haen's 81st-minute finish to end the hosts' perfect Eredivisie run.

PSV Eindhoven were utterly ruthless at Utrecht, winning 6-1 in a performance that exposed everything wrong with the home side. This was not a football match. It was a statement.

Sparta Rotterdam host Willem II on Saturday evening with both sides desperately short of wins and, frankly, short of basic defensive standards. This one has goals written all over it, and not in a good way for either backline.

Utrecht and Willem II meet on Sunday with a combined record of zero wins across their last nine Eredivisie matches. Someone has to end their misery. The question is whether either side is capable of it.
