How our ACCA tips work

1

Model scores every fixture

Our proprietary model rates home, draw, away, goals and both-teams-to-score markets on every upcoming match. Only selections above 65% confidence make the shortlist.

2

Legs are combined for balance

The shortlist is grouped into 3-4 leg ACCAs, spreading risk across leagues and kickoff slots. Correlated legs from the same match are never mixed together.

3

Prices are checked against the model

Every ACCA is compared against the bookmaker's combined price. We publish the model edge so you can see whether the price offers value before you place a bet.

What is an accumulator?

An accumulator, commonly shortened to ACCA, is a single bet made up of multiple selections. Every leg must win for the bet to pay out, but the odds of each leg multiply together, producing a larger combined price than any individual selection. A four-leg ACCA at evens (2.00) per leg produces a combined price of 16.00, or 15 to 1. That is the appeal: a small stake that, when it lands, pays a lot more than a single bet on any one leg would.

The maths cut the other way too. Every leg you add reduces the chance of the bet paying. A four-leg ACCA at 60% implied probability per leg has just under a 13% chance of all four legs landing. This is why ACCAs are best thought of as entertainment rather than a reliable source of returns, and why stake discipline matters more here than on straight singles.

How our ACCA tips work

Every ACCA on SportSignals is generated by our proprietary AI engine. The model rates upcoming fixtures on match result, total goals and both-teams-to-score markets, using recent form, head-to-head records, squad availability and live odds from our price feed. Only selections scoring above 65% confidence make the shortlist, and correlated legs from the same match are never combined into the same ACCA.

The model also compares the combined odds at the bookmaker against the fair odds implied by its own leg probabilities. The difference is displayed as a model edge. A positive edge means the bookmaker has priced the ACCA above what our model considers fair. A negative edge means the market has priced it below our model, in which case we flag the slip clearly and suggest you consider whether the bet still suits your preferences before placing it.

Daily, weekend and long-shot ACCAs

Our ACCA of the Day is a 3 to 4 leg ACCA built around the best single fixture card each day. It prioritises model confidence over price, so the combined odds tend to sit between 4.00 and 12.00 and the hit rate is designed to run at 30 to 40% across a reasonable sample.

Weekend 5-folds are published on a Friday, covering Saturday and Sunday. These are deliberately spread across competitions, so a single league having a chaotic weekend does not flatten the whole slip. Long shots combine 6 to 7 legs at bigger combined odds. They are intended for users who are comfortable with the variance: most long shots will lose, but when they land the payout can cover a long run of losing slips. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Which bookmakers offer the best ACCA pricing?

There is no single best bookmaker. The best price varies from slip to slip, depending on how each operator prices match result, goals and both-teams-to-score markets for the fixtures in question. UK operators such as bet365, Sky Bet, Paddy Power, William Hill, Coral, Ladbrokes and Betway all offer competitive ACCA pricing, and our bookmaker comparison strip shows the combined returns on a £10 stake at each operator side by side.

Combined prices can differ by a few percent across operators, and stacked over a lot of slips that is where the edge lives. We suggest always checking the strip before placing a bet, because the same legs at the best price can return meaningfully more than at a worse-priced slip.

Tips for building your own accumulators

Stick to 3 or 4 legs unless you are specifically chasing a long shot. Each additional leg roughly halves the bet's win probability, while the extra odds rarely compensate once correlation and bookmaker margin are taken into account. Spread selections across competitions to avoid a single weird matchday in one league wiping the whole slip.

Favour legs where the model and the market broadly agree but the bookmaker has priced a small extra buffer. Avoid stacking short-price favourites: a four-fold where every leg is 1.30 is a slip that needs almost everything to go right for a return of less than 3 to 1. Consider mixing a shorter-price home win with a goals market and a draw-no-bet leg for shape.

Finally, stake small. ACCAs should be a small part of any overall betting approach, not the centrepiece. A good rule of thumb is that no single ACCA stake should matter if the slip loses.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ACCA of the Day?
+
The ACCA of the Day is our headline 3 to 4 leg accumulator built each morning at 06:00 UTC. It combines the highest-confidence selections from our model across the day's upcoming fixtures and is intended as our most balanced daily tip.
How is the model edge calculated?
+
Model edge compares the current bookmaker combined price for the ACCA against the fair combined price implied by our model's confidence in each leg. If the bookmaker price is higher than the fair price, we show a positive edge. If it is lower, we flag the slip and show a negative edge in amber so you can make an informed decision.
How often do your ACCAs win?
+
Daily 3 to 4 leg ACCAs are targeted at a 30 to 40% strike rate over a long run. Weekend 5-folds and long shots land less often but at bigger combined odds. Every settled ACCA is tracked automatically and shown on the performance page with a Wilson 95% confidence interval so you can see how reliable the sample is.
Are the tips free?
+
Yes. Every ACCA on the site is free to read, including the full detail page with reasoning, price comparison and form context. You can also subscribe to the email list to receive tips before kickoff.
Where should I place the bet?
+
The bookmaker comparison strip on the ACCA of the Day card shows indicative combined returns on a £10 stake at the major UK operators. Prices can move at kickoff, so the bookmaker's live slip price is the one that counts. Please gamble responsibly and only stake money you can afford to lose.
