Bajraktarevic also deserves credit. Two assists before he was taken off at the hour. He caused Sparta problems throughout the first half and PSV were ruthless in exploiting the space he created.

The thing is, those numbers are not a surprise to anyone who watched the game. PSV were relentless. They moved the ball with purpose and they created chance after chance. Eight accurate crosses. Twenty-four key passes. Seventeen shots from inside the box. The basics were executed at an extremely high level. That is what separates a top side from the rest.
