Zulte-Waregem 4-0 SK Beveren result, stats and report

KV Kortrijk finally got off the mark in the Belgian Pro League with a narrow 1-0 victory over SK Beveren, Jamie Roche's 52nd-minute finish doing just enough to separate two sides with very different stories to tell.

Anderlecht put Zulte-Waregem to the sword with a controlled 3-0 victory at home, with Marten Winkler grabbing a second-half brace to settle any remaining doubt after Tawfik Bentayeb had given the hosts the lead just before the break.

Sporting Charleroi took all three points at Zulte-Waregem thanks to a Jakob Napoleon Romsaas goal on 29 minutes, as the hosts squandered chance after chance in a maddening afternoon for the home side.

SK Beveren shut out Sint-Truiden with a disciplined second-half performance in the Belgian Pro League, with Chris Lokesa's penalty and Jearl Margaritha's finish doing the damage. Sint-Truiden had the ball and wasted it completely.

Genk put on a commanding display at home, scoring four without reply to leave SK Beveren with nothing to show from a night when they simply could not compete where it mattered.

Two goals in the final minutes of stoppage time gave Zulte-Waregem a 2-0 win at KV Kortrijk, extending the home side's winless run to four matches in the Belgian Pro League.

Zulte-Waregem have not lost a home match in their last ten Belgian Pro League outings, but Gent arrive on Saturday having won all five of their most recent fixtures. Something has to give.

SK Beveren host Lommel SK on Friday night in a Belgian Pro League fixture that could go a long way to defining both clubs' early-season confidence. The form book gives Lommel the edge, but Beveren have shown they can hurt anyone on their day.
