SK Beveren 1-3 Lommel SK result, stats and report

KV Kortrijk finally got off the mark in the Belgian Pro League with a narrow 1-0 victory over SK Beveren, Jamie Roche's 52nd-minute finish doing just enough to separate two sides with very different stories to tell.

A goalless stalemate at Lommel SK saw Mechelen create the clearer opportunities but fail to convert, with Lommel's goalkeeper making four saves to preserve a point that does little for either side.

SK Beveren shut out Sint-Truiden with a disciplined second-half performance in the Belgian Pro League, with Chris Lokesa's penalty and Jearl Margaritha's finish doing the damage. Sint-Truiden had the ball and wasted it completely.

Union Saint-Gilloise put on a ruthless display at home, scoring five without reply to dismantle Lommel SK completely. Raul Florucz came off the bench to grab two late goals and put the final stamp on a performance that left nothing to debate.

Genk put on a commanding display at home, scoring four without reply to leave SK Beveren with nothing to show from a night when they simply could not compete where it mattered.

Lommel SK claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Cercle Brugge, with Tom Reyners' 61st-minute finish proving the difference as the hosts extended their winless run to five matches in the Belgian Pro League.

SK Beveren put OH Leuven to the sword with three second-half goals, ending a run of poor form with a statement clean sheet. Chris Lokesa, Jearl Margaritha, and Elohim Kaboré did the damage as Leuven's wretched run continued.

SK Beveren host Lommel SK on Friday night in a Belgian Pro League fixture that could go a long way to defining both clubs' early-season confidence. The form book gives Lommel the edge, but Beveren have shown they can hurt anyone on their day.
