Cesena 1-1 Sampdoria result, stats and report

Sampdoria ended a four-match losing streak in Serie B with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Catanzaro, with Lorenzo Insigne and substitute Tjas Begic providing the goals after Stefan Gartenmann's own goal gave the home side a half-time lead.

Cristian Shpendi gave Cesena the lead at the half-hour mark but Antonio Di Nardo's second-half equaliser earned Juve Stabia a hard-fought draw in Serie B on Friday night. A game of genuine effort and no shortage of incident, but neither side could find a winner.

Mantova made it count when it mattered, finishing the sharper of two evenly matched sides to claim a 2-0 Serie B win over Sampdoria, whose profligacy in front of goal proved fatal.

Cesena led through Cristian Shpendi's brace but Cremonese showed real desire in the second half, with Michele Collocolo and Federico Bonazzoli completing a remarkable comeback in Serie B.

Cesena came from a standing start to win 2-1 away at Virtus Entella in Serie B, with both goals arriving before the break and Entella unable to find a leveller despite a frantic second half. The home side committed 18 fouls and still lost. That tells you everything.

Sampdoria have not won in five Serie B matches and have conceded nine goals in the process. Arezzo arrive at the Ferraris having shipped nine goals of their own on their travels, making this a fixture full of alarming questions for both camps.

Cesena have drawn three of their last five Serie B matches and kept zero clean sheets in that run. Avellino arrive with five wins from their last ten and a defence that has kept opponents out in half of those games.

Benevento head into Saturday's Serie B clash without a win in their last three completed matches, while Cesena have drawn more often than they have won or lost. Something has to give.
