Patric Åslund also deserves credit. His goal at 26 minutes ended any lingering hope Mjällby might have harboured of getting back into the contest. He was then withdrawn at 85 minutes, another smart rotation from the home side once the three points were secured.

Mjällby's Form Was a Warning Nobody Heeded

Look at Mjällby's recent results heading into this match. Across their last five completed Allsvenskan fixtures, they had won one, drawn one and lost three. They had conceded eight goals and only kept one clean sheet. The warning signs were there in plain sight.
