Westerlo 3-3 OH Leuven result, stats and report

Westerlo claimed a deserved 2-0 victory at Sint-Truiden on Sunday, with Norman Bassette and Cisse Sandra scoring either side of half-time to leave the home side with nothing to show for 17 shots.

OH Leuven picked up a much-needed three points against La Louvière, with Wouter George and William Balikwisha on the scoresheet in a controlled Belgian Pro League victory. The clean sheet was equally important for a side that had conceded ten goals in its previous five matches.

Cercle Brugge snatched a stoppage-time equaliser through Krys Kouassi's penalty to deny OH Leuven a first win of their recent Belgian Pro League run, finishing 1-1 in a bad-tempered match that ended with cards flying and a VAR check in added time.

Westerlo beat Standard Liège 4-2 in the Belgian Pro League despite being second-best in possession and attacks for much of the match. Clinical finishing and a ruthless second-half performance did the job.

Standard Liège took all three points from Den Dreef with a 2-1 victory over OH Leuven, winning despite being outshot 22 to 5 and holding just 38% of possession. Casper Nielsen's early penalty and Dennis Eckert Ayensa's second-half strike proved enough.

SK Beveren put OH Leuven to the sword with three second-half goals, ending a run of poor form with a statement clean sheet. Chris Lokesa, Jearl Margaritha, and Elohim Kaboré did the damage as Leuven's wretched run continued.

Westerlo head into Sunday's Belgian Pro League clash with three defeats from their last five and a defence that has shipped 14 goals in that run. Antwerp arrive with their own inconsistencies, but the head-to-head record tells a very clear story.

Union Saint-Gilloise arrive at Sunday's Belgian Pro League derby in the form of their lives. OH Leuven arrive having lost five on the bounce and conceded twelve goals in the process.
