Tavernes vs Valencia prediction, odds and how to watch

Valencia created five big chances and failed to convert a single one in a goalless draw with Athletic Club, a result that summed up everything wrong with a side that cannot turn desire into points. Athletic Club, organised and disciplined, took what they needed and left.

Real Sociedad came from behind to beat Valencia 3-2 at Mestalla, with an 84th-minute own goal and a 90th-minute Ander Barrenetxea finish doing the damage. Valencia had the ball, the shots, and the desire. They did not have the basics when it mattered.

Valencia ended a run of four consecutive La Liga defeats with a gritty 1-0 win at Deportivo Alaves, substitute Luis Rioja settling the contest with a right-foot finish twelve minutes from time. Alaves dominated large portions of the match but paid the price for squandering two big chances.

Valencia are wobbling badly and Real Madrid are coming to Mestalla with a perfect head-to-head record between these two sides. This could get ugly.

Elche host Valencia on Sunday with both sides in desperate form and neither able to keep a clean sheet. Something has to give, but right now there is very little evidence either side knows how to stop the bleeding.

Valencia have shipped ten goals in their last five La Liga matches and host an Athletic Club side that has beaten Atletico Madrid 3-0 away from home this term. Something has to give on Saturday night.
