Sporting Gijón 2-1 Albacete result, stats and report

Córdoba took all three points at Albacete on Friday night, winning 2-1 in a match that Albacete dominated on paper but could not convert into a result. Alex Rubio struck inside the first minute and the lead held until Albacete hit back twice, only for Córdoba to edge it in a game that said everything about where both clubs are right now.

Eldense came to El Molinón and did the basics well enough to steal three points, with substitute Javi Martínez's 76th-minute right-foot finish the difference. Sporting Gijón had the territory and the cards, but they did not have the ruthlessness when it mattered.

Granada dominated large spells at home but were pegged back by a late Albacete penalty from Higinio Marín, leaving both sides to share a 1-1 draw in La Liga 2. Owen Emeka's second-half opener looked like it might be enough, but Albacete dug in and snatched a point they will take.
