Sevilla 2-1 Espanyol result, stats and report

Raphinha scored three times as Barcelona dismantled Sevilla 3-1 in La Liga, with the visitors' clinical finishing and dominant possession proving far too much for the home side.

Espanyol were reduced to ten men inside four minutes through a VAR-reviewed card on Federico Redondo, and Elche made them pay in ruthless fashion, running out 3-1 winners in La Liga on Friday night.

Sevilla won 1-0 at Deportivo La Coruña thanks to Miguel Ángel Sierra Ortega's second-half strike, with the hosts left to rue a VAR red card and a woeful attacking return of just one shot inside the box all night.

Roberto Fernández scored twice inside 17 minutes to give Espanyol a commanding 2-0 victory away at Osasuna, a result that tells you everything about where both clubs are right now.

Real Madrid host Sevilla on Sunday night with four wins from their last five La Liga matches, but their defensive record tells a more complicated story. Sevilla arrive with problems of their own, including suspensions and injuries that could make this a long evening.

Atletico Madrid travel to Espanyol on Saturday in confident form, facing a home side that has won just once in their last five La Liga matches. Something has to give at RCDE Stadium.

Málaga have scored just once in four La Liga matches and have not won in that time. Espanyol arrive with problems of their own, but they at least know how to find the net.
