Sampdoria 1-2 Juve Stabia result, stats and report

Sampdoria ended a four-match losing streak in Serie B with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Catanzaro, with Lorenzo Insigne and substitute Tjas Begic providing the goals after Stefan Gartenmann's own goal gave the home side a half-time lead.

Cristian Shpendi gave Cesena the lead at the half-hour mark but Antonio Di Nardo's second-half equaliser earned Juve Stabia a hard-fought draw in Serie B on Friday night. A game of genuine effort and no shortage of incident, but neither side could find a winner.

Mantova made it count when it mattered, finishing the sharper of two evenly matched sides to claim a 2-0 Serie B win over Sampdoria, whose profligacy in front of goal proved fatal.

Juve Stabia came to the Menti and took a point they probably deserved, levelling through a late penalty after Tommaso Corazza had given Vicenza the lead. The home side had neither the quality nor the discipline to see it out.

Palermo won 2-1 against Sampdoria despite being outpossessed and outshot, with early goals from Gabriel Strefezza and Joel Pohjanpalo proving enough to hold off a Sampdoria side that created plenty but converted little.

Sampdoria have not won in five Serie B matches and have conceded nine goals in the process. Arezzo arrive at the Ferraris having shipped nine goals of their own on their travels, making this a fixture full of alarming questions for both camps.

Juve Stabia have kept zero clean sheets in their last five Serie B matches and conceded eight goals. Südtirol arrive unbeaten in five. Something has to give.

Two sides who cannot stop shipping goals and cannot find any consistency face each other in Serie B on Saturday. This one matters more than it should for both of them.
