Philadelphia Union 1-1 Columbus Crew result, stats and report

Columbus Crew left Montréal with three points they barely had to sweat for, goals from Mohamed Farsi and Brais Méndez exposing a CF Montréal side that cannot defend, cannot score, and cannot compete at the basic level required. Five losses from their last five in MLS tells you everything.

Philadelphia Union were utterly dominant in San Diego, winning 5-0 with Cavan Sullivan grabbing a brace and the hosts reduced to a shambles after a VAR card at half-time. San Diego never competed.

Ronald Donkor's late right-foot finish handed New York RB a 1-0 win at Columbus Crew, punishing a home side that created plenty but delivered nothing until it was too late. Columbus had the chances. They just did not take them.

Two teams in rotten form collide in MLS on Sunday, but Cincinnati's defensive numbers are in a place beyond embarrassing. Columbus Crew arrive with problems of their own, but this one stinks of opportunity for the visitors.

Philadelphia Union head into Saturday's home fixture against Charlotte on the back of four straight wins and just two goals conceded in their last five MLS matches. Charlotte arrive unbeaten in five but will need to be at their absolute best to stop a Union side that has been ruthless in front of goal.

Chicago Fire have not won in five MLS matches and cannot keep a clean sheet to save their lives. Philadelphia Union arrive in Illinois having lost none of their last ten.

Columbus Crew have won once in their last five MLS matches and Charlotte arrive having not lost in ten. This one is not complicated.

Orlando City carry genuine momentum into Sunday's late-night MLS clash against a Columbus Crew side that has managed just one win in their last five matches. The question is whether Orlando can keep the door shut.
