Wrexham nicked all three points against the run of play as a Keven Schlotterbeck own goal in the 89th minute settled a chaotic finish at the Racecourse Ground, despite Southampton creating the better chances across ninety minutes.

Birmingham let a lead slip as a Riley McGree own goal and a late Adilson Malanda header earned Middlesbrough a 2-2 draw at St Andrew's, leaving the Blues to rue another afternoon without a clean sheet.

Bolton Wanderers have lost three of their last five Championship matches and are running out of time to sort their defence out. Middlesbrough roll into the University of Bolton Stadium without a defeat in five. This has the look of a problem.

Wrexham and Preston meet at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday with both clubs desperately short of form and points. Something has to give, but neither side looks ready to take it.

Middlesbrough host a Cardiff City side that has not won in their last seven Championship outings. Something has to give on Saturday, and the evidence points firmly in one direction.
