Laval 1-1 Sochaux result, stats and report

Sochaux grabbed a 79th-minute header through Samy Baghdadi only for Laval's Sam Sanna to equalise four minutes later, leaving both sides with a point from a feisty, card-heavy Friday night in Ligue 2.

Sochaux ground out a 1-0 win over Nantes in Ligue 2, with Benjamin Gomel scoring the only goal eight minutes after being booked. Nantes had more of the ball and more chances but lacked the cutting edge when it mattered.

Dijon claimed a 3-2 victory over Laval in Ligue 2 despite being second best for large portions of the match, with Samy Chouchane's third-minute opener setting the tone for a chaotic evening in Burgundy.

Clermont hit the woodwork twice and Sochaux had a man booked before half-time as a tepid Ligue 2 contest at Clermont ended goalless, with neither side able to find the cutting edge when it mattered.

Red Star came from a man-down situation to hold on for a 2-1 victory at Laval in Ligue 2, with Samuel Renel and Damien Durand scoring before the break to hand the visitors three points they deserved.

Sochaux took the lead through Lorenzo Rajot and dominated every meaningful statistic, but a red card for Pau did not cost them the point they ultimately salvaged in a frustrating Ligue 2 draw.

Metz have drawn three of their last five Ligue 2 matches and look short of a cutting edge. Sochaux arrive unbeaten in five and keeping clean sheets for fun.

Laval have shipped ten goals in their last five Ligue 2 matches and cannot keep a clean sheet to save their lives. Clermont arrive having drawn four of their last five. Something has to give.
