Houston Dynamo 3-0 Austin result, stats and report

Houston Dynamo led twice but could not hold on as Cincinnati's Kévin Denkey converted a stoppage-time penalty to earn a 2-2 draw in MLS. A gutless defensive display from the home side let Cincinnati off the hook despite being massively outshot.

A tight, scrappy Texas derby produced no goals but plenty of talking points, with Dallas dominating territory and Austin's keepers and defenders doing just enough to earn a point on the road.

Austin took all three points at Vancouver despite losing the disciplinary battle comprehensively, as Christian Ramirez's brace was cancelled out and then some by a Whitecaps side that imploded with five yellow cards and a red. Brian White's equaliser and Austin's relentless pressure proved the difference.

Houston Dynamo have won once in their last five MLS matches and Dallas cannot keep a clean sheet to save their lives. Something has to give in this Texas derby.

Austin beat Vancouver Whitecaps just five weeks ago and now they meet again in MLS. The question is whether Austin have the desire to do it twice.

Austin have not lost in five matches and San Diego have not won in three. Something has to give on Sunday morning, and the evidence points firmly in one direction.

Los Angeles FC have drawn three of their last five MLS matches and cannot afford another stalemate at home. Austin roll into town without a loss in five and with goals in every one of those games.

San Diego have shipped ten goals in their last five matches and are running out of road. Houston Dynamo arrive having kept seven clean sheets in their last ten. Something has to give.
