GO Ahead Eagles dominated every statistic that mattered but could only rescue a 1-1 draw against FC Groningen at home, with Søren Tengstedt equalising in the 82nd minute after Brynjólfur Willumsson's first-half goal threatened to hand the visitors all three points.

AZ Alkmaar dominated possession and created chance after chance but could not hold on, as Willem II snatched a deserved point through Devin Haen's 81st-minute finish to end the hosts' perfect Eredivisie run.

PEC Zwolle have shipped 28 goals in their last ten Eredivisie matches and now face a GO Ahead Eagles side that has scored in every single one of their last five. Something has to give, and the smart money says it is Zwolle's backline.

Sparta Rotterdam host Willem II on Saturday evening with both sides desperately short of wins and, frankly, short of basic defensive standards. This one has goals written all over it, and not in a good way for either backline.

Utrecht and Willem II meet on Sunday with a combined record of zero wins across their last nine Eredivisie matches. Someone has to end their misery. The question is whether either side is capable of it.
