Celta, to give them credit where it is due, organised themselves well without the ball. They sat compact, they committed five fouls, they picked up two yellow cards, and they still managed to keep Getafe at bay for large portions of the match. The equaliser came on 57 minutes and it was headed in by Carl Starfelt, assisted by Hugo González. A set piece situation, a centre back arriving to convert. That is a moment of basic desire. You get in the box, you attack the ball, you score. Simple. It is what Getafe should have been doing all afternoon.

The header levelled the match and suddenly Getafe had momentum. But they could not find a second goal. Celta had created two big chances in the match to Getafe's one, and they missed one of those big chances themselves. Both goalkeepers made one save each. This was not a match of high drama and end to end action. It was a tight, scrappy contest where neither side showed enough cutting edge to claim all three points.
