Genk 3-2 Westerlo result, stats and report

Club Brugge dismantled Genk 3-0 at home, with goals from Carlos Forbs, Han-beom Lee, and Brandon Mechele sealing a controlled and commanding victory. Genk created chances but squandered every one of them.

Westerlo claimed a deserved 2-0 victory at Sint-Truiden on Sunday, with Norman Bassette and Cisse Sandra scoring either side of half-time to leave the home side with nothing to show for 17 shots.

Westerlo beat Standard Liège 4-2 in the Belgian Pro League despite being second-best in possession and attacks for much of the match. Clinical finishing and a ruthless second-half performance did the job.

Genk put on a commanding display at home, scoring four without reply to leave SK Beveren with nothing to show from a night when they simply could not compete where it mattered.

Anderlecht controlled large portions of this Belgian Pro League contest but could not convert their superiority into goals, as Genk held firm for a hard-earned point at Lotto Park.

Westerlo were taken apart at Mechelen on Saturday, conceding four without reply as Shunsuke Saito scored twice and the visitors offered almost nothing in return.

Westerlo head into Sunday's Belgian Pro League clash with three defeats from their last five and a defence that has shipped 14 goals in that run. Antwerp arrive with their own inconsistencies, but the head-to-head record tells a very clear story.

KV Kortrijk arrive in Genk having lost five consecutive Belgian Pro League matches and scored just once. Genk have their own inconsistencies to sort out, but this is a game they should be winning.
