FC St. Pauli 1-2 Kaiserslautern result, stats and report

Energie Cottbus salvaged a 1-1 draw against FC St. Pauli in the 2. Bundesliga on Sunday, with substitute Martijn Kaars heading home in the 80th minute despite Cottbus finishing the match with ten men. St. Pauli dominated the game but could not hold on for the win.

Magdeburg put on a clinical home display to dismantle Kaiserslautern 3-0, with Emmanuel Iyoha grabbing a brace and the hosts winning comfortably despite going into the match off the back of a poor recent run.

Kaiserslautern came to Hamburg and earned a deserved 2-1 win over FC St. Pauli, with substitute Abdoulie Ceesay scoring the winner a minute after coming on. St. Pauli had no answer for a visiting side that dominated the match from start to finish.

Kaiserslautern were dominant throughout as goals from Mário Sauer and Thierry Tazemeta sealed a comfortable 2-0 win over a Darmstadt 98 side that had no answer and no desire to find one.

Hannover 96 have won once in their last five 2. Bundesliga matches and cannot keep a clean sheet to save their lives. FC St. Pauli arrive in Lower Saxony full of draws and just enough to make this awkward.

Two sides with more questions than answers meet at the Betzenberg on Saturday. Kaiserslautern need to prove last month's 0-3 hammering was a blip. Bochum need to prove they can keep a clean sheet away from home.

Energie Cottbus host FC St. Pauli in the 2. Bundesliga on Sunday with both sides struggling for consistency, but it is the home defence that is raising the most serious questions. Neither team has kept a clean sheet in their last three completed league matches.
