FC Augsburg 2-2 Bayer Leverkusen result, stats and report

Jonas Hofmann scored twice inside three first-half minutes to hand Bayer Leverkusen a commanding 2-0 victory over OFI in the UEFA Europa League, with the Greek side offering precious little to suggest they could live with their opponents.

SC Freiburg came from behind to win 2-1 at Bayer Leverkusen, with Patrik Schick's 76th-minute strike settling a game Leverkusen dominated in territory but could not control where it mattered. Ibrahim Maza and Schick did the damage for an away side that arrived with a point to prove and left with three.

Elversberg held on for a dramatic 4-3 Bundesliga win over FC Augsburg on Saturday, with Frederik Schmahl's 89th-minute goal proving the difference in a match that had everything. Augsburg mounted a serious second-half comeback but could not find a fourth, leaving Elversberg to claim all three points.

Bayer Leverkusen host Paderborn at the BayArena on Saturday with form, firepower, and every logical reason to win. Paderborn have kept zero clean sheets in their last five Bundesliga matches. This should be straightforward.

FC Augsburg have not kept a single clean sheet in their last five Bundesliga matches, and SC Freiburg arrive at the WWK Arena with three wins from five and an attack that has been finding the net with regularity. This one has goals written all over it.

Bayer Leverkusen look the part at home, but Stuttgart have won both previous meetings between these sides and they have the head-to-head record to make Saturday uncomfortable.

Hoffenheim have lost four of their last five Bundesliga matches and kept zero clean sheets in that run. Bayer Leverkusen arrive with fourteen goals in five and no intention of being gentle.

FC Augsburg host Union Berlin on Saturday with both clubs carrying serious problems into this Bundesliga clash. The question is simple: who wants it more.
