Famalicão 1-2 Marítimo result, stats and report

Famalicão were ruthless and clinical, putting four past a Nacional side that had no answer and no fight. Georgios Koutsias and Sorriso shared the goals and the headlines.

Gil Vicente dominated large portions of this Liga Portugal contest but were denied all three points when Israel Isaac Ayuma equalised for Marítimo in the 90th minute, cancelling out Murilo de Souza Costa's early opener.

Marítimo came to Moreirense and did the basics better, scoring twice in the first half and adding a penalty late on to run out 3-1 winners. Moreirense had the ball, had the attacks, and produced nothing with either.

Famalicão earned a point against Sporting CP after a dramatic own goal from Gonçalo Inácio deep in stoppage time cancelled out Luis Suárez's 81st-minute penalty, in a match that saw Sporting's manager Carlos Carvalhal sent to the stands.

Estrela Amadora twice led at home only to be pegged back by Famalicão, with Georgios Koutsias scoring either side of the break to earn the visitors a 2-2 draw in the Liga Portugal.

Famalicão and Gil Vicente served up a sterile 0-0 draw in the Liga Portugal, with both sides managing just one shot on target apiece despite a card-heavy second half from the visitors.

Two of Liga Portugal's most draw-prone sides meet on Monday night, with Famalicão yet to win in five and Alverca yet to keep a clean sheet in ten. Something has to give. Probably not much.

Porto arrive at Marítimo on Saturday having won all five of their last completed Liga Portugal matches, conceding just one goal across that run. Marítimo have shipped eight in five. This is not a contest. It is a test of how badly Porto want the clean sheet.
