Córdoba 2-1 Girona result, stats and report

Girona came from behind to beat Cádiz 2-1 in La Liga 2, with Vladyslav Vanat and Carles Pérez scoring either side of half-time after Álex Moreno set up both goals. Cádiz's own goal from David López gave them a lifeline but they could not find an equaliser.

Córdoba took all three points at Albacete on Friday night, winning 2-1 in a match that Albacete dominated on paper but could not convert into a result. Alex Rubio struck inside the first minute and the lead held until Albacete hit back twice, only for Córdoba to edge it in a game that said everything about where both clubs are right now.

Almería took all three points at Córdoba with goals from Brian Cipenga and substitute Thalys, winning 2-0 despite Córdoba dominating possession and creating far more attempts on goal.

Girona controlled possession, corners, and shots but lost 1-2 to Castellón, who scored twice in the final ten minutes through Agustín Sienra and substitute Álvaro García to snatch all three points.

Girona host FC Andorra in La Liga 2 on Sunday 18 October, and the numbers say one thing clearly: Andorra cannot keep a clean sheet to save their lives. Connor Maguire runs the rule over both sides.

Leganés host Córdoba on Friday night in a La Liga 2 fixture that pits one of the division's more defensively solid sides against a travelling team that has conceded twelve goals in five away matches. Something has to give.

Girona arrive in Tenerife with goals in their legs and momentum building. The question is whether Tenerife have the desire and the basics to shut them down.

Eldense have not won in four La Liga 2 matches and have scored just twice. Córdoba arrive having lost three of their last five. Something has to give on Sunday.
