Avellino 3-0 Vicenza result, stats and report

Avellino came from behind to beat Ascoli 3-1 in Serie B, with Andrea Silipo scoring twice in the final twenty minutes to seal a result that the stats suggest was entirely deserved.

Walid Cheddira gave Avellino the lead on the hour mark but Dennis Johnsen equalised within three minutes for Palermo, leaving the hosts to rue three big chances missed in a frustrating 1-1 draw.

Avellino put Vicenza to the sword with three goals in a ruthless home performance, with Andrea Favilli pulling the strings and the visitors failing to convert despite dominating possession.

Avellino took all three points at Modena with a Michele Besaggio goal in the eighth minute, and Modena never showed enough desire or threat to drag themselves back into it.

Cesena have drawn three of their last five Serie B matches and kept zero clean sheets in that run. Avellino arrive with five wins from their last ten and a defence that has kept opponents out in half of those games.

Ascoli head into matchday two of the 2026/27 Serie B season carrying three points and a clear structure, while Avellino arrive with a deeply concerning away record and a momentum slope that is pointing in the wrong direction.

Avellino have been a different proposition at home this season, but Palermo carry the quality and the structure of a side with promotion ambitions. Sunday's fixture at the Stadio Partenio-Adriano Lombardi has the makings of a genuinely instructive early-season encounter.
