Atalanta 1-2 Cagliari result, stats and report

AC Milan edged a chaotic five-goal Serie A clash with Atalanta, with Adrien Rabiot and Mario Gila doing the damage before Nikola Krstović made it a nervy finish. Milan held on for three points they needed badly.

Nikola Krstović scored twice inside the first half hour as Atalanta put Venezia to the sword in a 3-1 Serie A victory, with the visitors' five-match losing run showing no sign of ending.

Juventus bossed this game from start to finish but a Daniel Maldini goal and a wall of Cagliari saves kept them at bay until Randal Kolo Muani nodded home with nine minutes left. The point flatters nobody.

Cagliari have been difficult to beat at home and carry real momentum into Saturday's fixture. Bologna arrive with form that raises serious questions about their desire to compete away from their own patch.

Monza have kept zero clean sheets in their last five Serie A matches and conceded eleven goals. Atalanta arrive at the U-Power Stadium with something to prove after three straight away defeats.

Cagliari have quietly built something worth respecting at home. Frosinone arrive with goals in their legs but a soft underbelly that good teams have already exposed.

Atalanta have lost three Serie A matches on the spin and welcome a Parma side who cannot keep a clean sheet to save their lives. Something has to give on Monday night.

Lazio head into Sunday's Serie A clash on a strong run of form, but Cagliari have quietly been keeping clean sheets and grinding out results. This one is tighter than it looks.
