Sochaux 0-3 Saint-Étienne result, stats and report

Metz looked set for three points after Augustine Boakye struck twice in four minutes, but Saint-Étienne refused to fold and Jessy Deminguet's 89th-minute header earned the visitors a point in a fiery Ligue 2 contest.

Sochaux grabbed a 79th-minute header through Samy Baghdadi only for Laval's Sam Sanna to equalise four minutes later, leaving both sides with a point from a feisty, card-heavy Friday night in Ligue 2.

Dunkerque produced a gritty second-half comeback to beat Saint-Étienne 2-1 in Ligue 2, with goals from Khalil Ayari and Souleymane Keita overturning a first-half deficit. It was a result that defied the pre-match evidence completely.

Sochaux ground out a 1-0 win over Nantes in Ligue 2, with Benjamin Gomel scoring the only goal eight minutes after being booked. Nantes had more of the ball and more chances but lacked the cutting edge when it mattered.

Clermont hit the woodwork twice and Sochaux had a man booked before half-time as a tepid Ligue 2 contest at Clermont ended goalless, with neither side able to find the cutting edge when it mattered.

Saint-Étienne arrive at Red Star on Saturday in blistering Ligue 2 form, having won four of their last five. Red Star are no pushover at home, but they will need to be at their competitive best to stop a side that simply does not stop scoring.

Metz have drawn three of their last five Ligue 2 matches and look short of a cutting edge. Sochaux arrive unbeaten in five and keeping clean sheets for fun.

Saint-Étienne arrive at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on the back of five straight Ligue 2 wins. Rodez have beaten them before and they know it.
