Santa Clara 4-0 Rio Ave result, stats and report

Santa Clara and Sporting Braga cancelled each other out in a scrappy Liga Portugal draw that produced seven yellow cards, one shot on target each, and precisely nothing in the way of cutting edge.

Dawda Camara struck inside three minutes to hand Alverca a 1-0 victory over Rio Ave in the Liga Portugal, as the visitors dominated possession and territory but failed to convert a hatful of big chances.

Estrela Amadora dominated possession and led twice through Abraham Marcus, but Rio Ave showed uncommon desire to claw back a point in a six-goal thriller in the Liga Portugal.

Santa Clara took all three points at Arouca with a 2-1 victory in Liga Portugal, scoring twice before half-time through Gonçalo Paciência and Djé before holding on despite finishing the match with ten men.

Sporting CP were ruthless and relentless at Rio Ave on Friday night, scoring four times in the first half to make the contest dead before the break. Luis Suárez grabbed two goals as Sporting showed exactly what they are about.

Alverca looked set to claim a precious home win after Vivaldo Semedo's header on 69 minutes, but Santa Clara substitute Brenner levelled with three minutes to go to earn a point in a tight Liga Portugal encounter.

Rio Ave have shipped 11 goals in their last five Liga Portugal matches and Nacional have won just once in their last five. Something has to give on Sunday at 15:30 UK time.

Casa Pia have not scored in five consecutive Liga Portugal matches and face a Santa Clara side who have not lost in their last five. Something has to give on Saturday.
