Santa Clara 1-0 Famalicão result, stats and report

Santa Clara and Sporting Braga cancelled each other out in a scrappy Liga Portugal draw that produced seven yellow cards, one shot on target each, and precisely nothing in the way of cutting edge.

Famalicão were ruthless and clinical, putting four past a Nacional side that had no answer and no fight. Georgios Koutsias and Sorriso shared the goals and the headlines.

Famalicão earned a point against Sporting CP after a dramatic own goal from Gonçalo Inácio deep in stoppage time cancelled out Luis Suárez's 81st-minute penalty, in a match that saw Sporting's manager Carlos Carvalhal sent to the stands.

Santa Clara took all three points at Arouca with a 2-1 victory in Liga Portugal, scoring twice before half-time through Gonçalo Paciência and Djé before holding on despite finishing the match with ten men.

Alverca looked set to claim a precious home win after Vivaldo Semedo's header on 69 minutes, but Santa Clara substitute Brenner levelled with three minutes to go to earn a point in a tight Liga Portugal encounter.

Santa Clara dismantled Rio Ave 4-0 in Liga Portugal, with goals from Brenner, Tiago Ribeiro, and Vinícius Lopes doing the damage in a performance that exposed every weakness Rio Ave have shown in recent weeks.

Two of Liga Portugal's most draw-prone sides meet on Monday night, with Famalicão yet to win in five and Alverca yet to keep a clean sheet in ten. Something has to give. Probably not much.

Casa Pia have not scored in five consecutive Liga Portugal matches and face a Santa Clara side who have not lost in their last five. Something has to give on Saturday.
