Reims 5-3 Pau result, stats and report

Reims dominated possession and territory but could not find a winner against a Montpellier side who equalised through Yaya Fofana and then had a man sent off. A point each, and Reims will feel they left two on the table.

Reims took all three points at Nancy on Friday night, scoring twice in the first half through Yaya Fofana and Chamsedin Kouranfal before holding on as Nancy threw everything at them. Nancy had 19 shots and dominated possession but a chronic lack of cutting edge cost them.

Reims put four past Red Star in Paris on Saturday afternoon, with Youssef El Kachati scoring twice as the visitors' clinical edge completely undid a Red Star side that had more of the ball but none of the cutting edge that mattered.

Reims dominated the chances but paid the price for wasting four big opportunities, as Yaya Fofana turned the game on its head with two goals in two second-half minutes before substitute Brandon Bokangu grabbed a point for the hosts in the 88th minute.

Reims turned a one-goal deficit into a commanding home win with three goals between the 53rd and 68th minute, their dominance in dangerous attacks and inside-the-box shooting telling the full story of a match Annecy could not contain.

Reims have not lost in their last ten Ligue 2 matches and carry genuine momentum into Friday night. Dijon arrive having won just once in their last five, and the gap in form could not be much clearer.

Nantes have shipped 11 goals in five Ligue 2 matches and cannot afford another soft performance at home. Reims arrive unbeaten and will fancy this.

Reims host Montpellier on Friday evening with both sides unbeaten in the early Ligue 2 season, but the patterns beneath those results tell very different stories. This is a tactical collision worth watching closely.
