Real Sociedad 3-4 Valencia result, stats and report

Real Sociedad dismantled Lillestrøm 6-0 in the UEFA Europa League, with Sergio Gómez scoring twice inside the opening half hour and Luka Sucic adding a brace to complete a night Lillestrøm will want to forget quickly.

Real Sociedad put five past Málaga at La Rosaleda, with Mikel Oyarzabal scoring twice and Takefusa Kubo setting the tone inside three minutes. Málaga's defence was a shambles and they never looked like stopping it.

Valencia created five big chances and failed to convert a single one in a goalless draw with Athletic Club, a result that summed up everything wrong with a side that cannot turn desire into points. Athletic Club, organised and disciplined, took what they needed and left.

Union Saint-Gilloise dominated large spells of the match but were pegged back by a Beñat Turrientes goal before Sekou Abrahame Keita's 88th-minute strike rescued a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League.

Racing Santander have conceded 17 goals in their last five La Liga matches and now face a Real Sociedad side that has won four of their last five. This is not a fixture for the faint-hearted.

Rayo Vallecano host a Valencia side riddled with injuries and short on wins. Saturday's fixture has the look of a match where desire and basics decide everything.

Real Sociedad arrive at this one in serious form, scoring freely and with genuine conviction. Levante have not won in five La Liga matches and look like a side waiting to get hurt.

Valencia have won once in their last five La Liga matches and Villarreal have taken both head-to-head meetings between these sides. Something has to give on Saturday.
