Rangers 1-0 Motherwell result, stats and report

Rangers silenced Celtic Park with a Ryan Naderi goal on 33 minutes, holding on for a 1-0 win despite Celtic's possession and pressure. The result ends Celtic's unbeaten run in Scottish Premiership matches and delivers a statement victory for Derek McInnes's side.

Dundee came from behind to beat Motherwell 2-1 at home, with Alex Lowry's 44th-minute equaliser proving the platform for a second-half winner despite Motherwell creating five big chances and hitting the woodwork twice.

Aberdeen made a mockery of their recent poor form to dismantle Motherwell 4-0 at Fir Park, with goals from Gavin Molloy, Connor Ronan, Ayoub Mouloua and Kevin Nisbet completing a ruthless away performance. Motherwell had 69% possession and scored nothing. That tells you everything.

Rangers arrive in Dundee on Saturday night with four wins from their last five Scottish Premiership matches. Dundee have lost two of their last three and cannot afford another soft showing at home.

Kilmarnock welcome Motherwell to Rugby Park on Saturday with both sides carrying serious problems. One win in five each. Neither can afford another afternoon of nothing.

Celtic arrive at Fir Park on Sunday with ten straight Scottish Premiership wins and zero intention of stopping. Motherwell have lost their last two and need a response fast.

Rangers completed a rare Old Firm derby double over Celtic, winning 3-0 in the League Cup and 1-0 in the league within eight days, a feat matched only by Graeme Souness among Rangers managers, plunging Martin O'Neill's title-leading side into crisis.

Derek McInnes says a genuine bond is forming at Rangers after four straight wins, but a two-legged Old Firm collision against a Celtic side unsettled by goalkeeper uncertainty and a police warning will decide whether his optimism holds up.
