Right, so Randers win 2-0 and everyone goes home happy. Job done. Three points. Clean sheet. Lovely stuff.
Except... look at those stats properly and this was not the comfortable Sunday afternoon stroll that final scoreline implies. Not even close. Lyngby were the better team for large chunks of this match and went home with absolutely nothing to show for it. That is football. Madness, sometimes.
The Goals: Clinical When It Mattered
Randers got off to a flyer. A left foot shot on 15 minutes put them ahead early, which is exactly what a team sitting 10th in the table and low on confidence needs. Get the goal, get the crowd behind you, make life difficult for the visitors. Tick, tick, tick.

Honestly, what Randers did here was textbook game management from a team that needed the points desperately. They are sitting 10th in the table, one point from two games coming into this, with a goals against column that had been leaking badly over the last ten matches. Twenty goals conceded in their last ten overall. That is not a defensive record, that is a horror film.
But today they set up compact, absorbed pressure, and hit on the counter. Look at the counter attack numbers. Four for Randers, three for Lyngby. Randers were actively hunting those breaks while Lyngby were trying to play through them. The 47 long passes from Randers compared to Lyngby's 37 tells you everything about how they wanted to play. Direct. Quick. Get it forward. Do not invite pressure.

Their home form in the last five games reads W-D-D-D-L, which is not exactly setting the world alight, but the momentum slope is pointing upward and a 2-0 win will do wonders for the confidence going into the next home fixture.
For Lyngby, this is only their second competitive game of the 2026 season, so context matters. They are clearly a team with attacking intent and energy, their overall numbers from this match show a side that is not here to make up the numbers. But they are going to need to turn that dominance into goals, and fast. Zero clean sheets in every form window available in the data. Every game they play seems to have goals in it, just not always for them on the right side of the ledger.
One thing I will say about Lyngby though... I actually looked at the numbers for once and their standing xG figures (yes, I know, I know, those numbers that apparently tell us everything and explain nothing) show them creating more than they are allowing. They are, in theory, the better team than their 1 point from 2 games suggests. Whether that translates into actual results is another matter entirely.
