Omonia Nicosia 4-2 Sint-Truiden result, stats and report

Westerlo claimed a deserved 2-0 victory at Sint-Truiden on Sunday, with Norman Bassette and Cisse Sandra scoring either side of half-time to leave the home side with nothing to show for 17 shots.

Omonia Nicosia ground out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo in the UEFA Europa League, with Jure Balkovec's late goal in the 88th minute proving the difference despite Celta dominating large spells of the contest.

SK Beveren shut out Sint-Truiden with a disciplined second-half performance in the Belgian Pro League, with Chris Lokesa's penalty and Jearl Margaritha's finish doing the damage. Sint-Truiden had the ball and wasted it completely.

Sint-Truiden travelled to Antwerp and left with a 4-1 win that was as clinical as it was damning. Antwerp had the ball, the corners, and the attacks. Sint-Truiden had the goals.

Sint-Truiden dismantled La Louvière with a thoroughly dominant 4-0 victory, with Samed Bazdar scoring twice in the second half to put the result beyond any doubt. La Louvière never competed at the required level and were overrun from start to finish.

Union Saint-Gilloise were utterly ruthless in Brussels, putting Sint-Truiden to the sword with a controlled, clinical 3-0 victory. Sint-Truiden offered nothing in front of goal and were second best in every department that matters.

Celje have one Europa League match under their belts and one heavy defeat to show for it. Omonia Nicosia arrive with five completed matches, three wins, and a point to prove.

Mechelen have not won a single Belgian Pro League match across their last ten, and Sint-Truiden arrive on Sunday having beaten them 3-0 in the most recent meeting between these sides. Something has to give.
