Liverpool vs Manchester United prediction, odds and how to watch

Alexis Mac Allister scored twice and Florian Wirtz added a stunning third as Liverpool came from behind twice to beat Villarreal 4-3 in a breathless Champions League encounter. Seven goals, no clean sheets, and a Villarreal side that made Liverpool work every single minute.

Liverpool host a Manchester United side that has not won in five Premier League matches, but the head-to-head record tells a very different story. Something has to give at Anfield on Sunday.

Michael Carrick must decide whether to drop captain Bruno Fernandes for Sunday's Bournemouth clash after the midfielder blamed the coaching staff, not the players, for United's 4-1 Champions League defeat at Como. With Lisandro Martinez fined for a similar outburst and Carrick himself fighting for his job, the decision is less about tactics than about who really controls Manchester United.

Manchester United insist Michael Carrick is safe for Sunday's Bournemouth game, but Eddie Howe, Antonio Conte and Julian Nagelsmann are already being eyed as replacements after the 4-1 Como humiliation and Bruno Fernandes' public criticism of his coach.

Bruno Fernandes' public rejection of blame for Manchester United's 4-1 defeat at Como has triggered a sharp rebuttal from manager Michael Carrick and split pundits over the captain's conduct. Coming a week after Lisandro Martinez's criticism of the club's transfer strategy, it points to a deeper leadership crisis at Old Trafford.

Como, Serie D amateurs as recently as 2017, host a Manchester United side winless in six matches, their worst run since 2018-19. The fixture lays bare both Como's remarkable five-year rise under Cesc Fabregas and the depth of United's current crisis.
