The one number that stands out for entirely the wrong reasons is Lecce's offside count. Nine. Nine times they were caught out. That is not misfortune. That is a back line with no organisation. No communication. No discipline. Unacceptable standards at this level.
Roma's Attacking Intent Was Relentless
Roma registered 136 attacks to Lecce's 80. Their dangerous attack count was 62 to 31. The home side was being overrun in every area of the pitch. Lecce's goalkeeper was kept busy, making four saves. Roma's keeper had to make just two. That is the gulf in class on display.

A centre-back contributing to a fourth goal in an away match. That tells you everything about how open Lecce had become. They had completely run out of ideas and, frankly, out of desire to compete.
Lecce's Substitutions Changed Nothing
Lecce made five changes and none of them altered the direction of the match. Youssef Maleh and Konan N'Dri came on at the start of the second half. Nikola Stulic followed at 54 minutes. Then Amar Fatah and Ivan Ilić at 72 minutes. Ilić then collected a yellow card for a foul at 90 minutes, which sums up Lecce's evening rather neatly.
Roma also made their changes with purpose. Santiago Castro replaced the booked Malen at 67 minutes. Niccolò Pisilli came on for Manu Koné at the same time. Marten de Roon replaced Paulo Dybala at 84 minutes. Roma managed the game properly. They killed it off and rotated. That is professionalism.
Context Makes This Even More Concerning for Lecce
In Lecce's last five completed Serie A matches before this game, they recorded four wins and one loss. That form looked promising. Their most recent result had been a 2-0 win over Venezia. So this was not a side arriving in terrible shape on paper.
But look back further across ten completed Serie A matches and a different picture emerges. Four wins, two draws, four losses. Eleven goals conceded. And crucially, Roma had already beaten Lecce 1-0 at this exact fixture in March. Lecce have a Roma problem. And nothing they did tonight suggested they have any idea how to fix it.
