Darmstadt 98 2-2 Holstein Kiel result, stats and report

Holstein Kiel and Osnabrück played out a 1-1 draw in the 2. Bundesliga, with the match settled by a Phil Harres penalty and a Hiroki Sekine own goal in a contest that produced plenty of cards, a red, and very little composure from either side.

VfL Wolfsburg dismantled Darmstadt 98 5-1 in a dominant 2. Bundesliga Friday night fixture, with Alexander Bernhardsson scoring twice and Robert Glatzel heading home a brace as the hosts controlled proceedings from first whistle to last.

Jonas Föhrenbach headed home in the 83rd minute to give 1. FC Heidenheim a hard-fought 1-0 win over Holstein Kiel, with the visitors finishing the match down to ten men after a red card late on.

Magdeburg beat Holstein Kiel 2-0 in the 2. Bundesliga despite being outpossessed 64-36, with Mateusz Zukowski and Luka Hyryläinen scoring late to settle a ferocious, card-filled contest.

Holstein Kiel twice led and twice failed to hold it, ending 2-2 against a Nürnberg side who were the better team for long stretches and left Kiel with serious defensive questions to answer.

Kaiserslautern were dominant throughout as goals from Mário Sauer and Thierry Tazemeta sealed a comfortable 2-0 win over a Darmstadt 98 side that had no answer and no desire to find one.

Two sides leaking goals, lacking conviction, and running out of room to hide. Sunday's 2. Bundesliga clash at Karlsruher SC is a contest built for the desperate.
