They had beaten Hapoel Be'er Sheva 5-2 in their most recent outing. They were not here just to make up the numbers.

But the step up from those qualifying rounds to facing Manchester United at Old Trafford was enormous. Their 20 tackles and 13 fouls show they were at least competing physically. They were not lying down. But desire alone does not stop a side of United's quality when they are in this kind of mood. Desire without the quality to back it up runs out of road quickly against a team converting chances at this rate.
