Honestly, Kilmarnock barely had time to get their legs warm. Celtic scored in the second minute. A header, assisted, clinical. The tone was set before most fans had found their seats and the vibes in the away end must have been absolutely scenes from that moment on.

And the game backed it up completely. Celtic were not lucky. They were better. Significantly better.
Kilmarnock's Home Form Meant Nothing Today

That possession gap tells you the whole story. Celtic just kept the ball, moved it quickly, and Kilmarnock spent the afternoon chasing shadows.
Kilmarnock only had 36 percent of the ball. In their own stadium. That is a tough watch for any home supporter and the Killie fans deserve a lot of credit for staying with their team and making noise because the stats were grim from early on.
The Second Half and the Only Bright Spot for Killie
Celtic came out for the second half and immediately made it four. Forty-seven minutes on the clock, a left-foot finish from the player who had assisted the hat-trick earlier. Ruthless. The game was dead and buried before most people had finished their half-time pie.
Kilmarnock did get a goal back on 56 minutes. A right-foot shot, worked through a combination play, and fair play to them for not giving up. They actually had Killie's keeper making 11 saves across the whole game, which tells you Celtic kept attacking even when it was comfortable. That is what top sides do. They do not switch off.
But then Celtic scored a fifth through a substitute at 75 minutes, moments after making changes. The game was well beyond saving for Kilmarnock by then and that goal just rubbed it in.
Celtic's Relentless Attacking Intent
Look at the fixtures and Celtic's recent form and you will see a team absolutely flying. Five wins from five overall in their last five games, 12 goals scored, only five conceded. They are moving the ball at pace, they are creating chances constantly, and their key pass numbers in this game alone were 25. Twenty-five key passes. Kilmarnock managed ten.
They also hit the woodwork three times in this game. Three times. That tells you how one-sided this was in terms of attacking threat. They had big chances and missed seven of them but it genuinely did not matter because the ones they took were enough, and then some.
Celtic's away form coming in was not perfect, three wins and two losses in their last five on the road, but their momentum slope was pointing upward and this performance will do nothing but boost that. When they play like this, they are a level above anyone else in Scotland right now. Don't @ me.
What Does This Mean Going Forward?
Celtic already had a win from their opening game of the season coming into this, and now they sit fourth in the early standings with three points from one game recorded, though this result will update that. You heard it here first, if they keep this up, the title race is going to be very one-sided very quickly.
Kilmarnock, on the other hand, sit ninth after two games with zero points and a goal difference of minus one. They have shown they can score, their overall form across the last ten games is actually solid with six wins, but a game like this hurts the confidence. Their manager will be working overtime this week. Back to the drawing board for Killie, as they say.
Honest truth? Celtic were just on a different level. The hat-trick hero, the passing, the relentless pressing forward. It was a proper demolition job and one of the more impressive away performances you will see in the Scottish Premiership this season. Kilmarnock fans will want to forget this one quickly.
