Right. Where do you even start with this one.

Levadia versus Caernarfon Town. Estonia versus Wales. Europa Conference League qualifying. And honestly, if you had any money on this finishing 5-0 to the home side, well done you. Genuinely. Because this was not a contest. This was a lesson.

Five goals. No reply. Nine corners to zero. Twenty-three shots to three. Seventy-three percent possession against twenty-seven. The numbers tell you everything you need to know, and even then they might be underselling just how comfortable Levadia were on the night.

Early Doors, Job Done

Caernarfon barely had time to settle before this one got away from them. Levadia were in front inside four minutes, a field goal putting the home side ahead almost from the off. The scenes in Tallinn must have been something. Four minutes in and the tone is already set.

By the time the twentieth minute came around, it was two. Levadia doubling their lead and Caernarfon already looking at a mountain to climb. Then, right before the break, the penalty. Thirty-three minutes. Three-nil at half time. The Welsh side must have sat in that dressing room wondering what had just happened to them.

I will be honest with you, I actually looked at the numbers for once and even I was taken aback by how one-sided this was. Levadia had seventeen goal attempts on target compared to Caernarfon's zero. Rubbing salt in the wound a bit, but when you are this dominant you might as well keep going.

There was a bit of needle around the sixty-fifth minute, both teams picking up cards for whatever reason the data does not specify. A foul card for Caernarfon at sixty-seven as well. Not the kind of evening where you keep your cool when you are getting pulled apart.

Levadia made five substitutions of their own after the sixty-sixth minute, rotating the squad and giving others a run out. When you are three up at half time in a qualifier, you can afford to do that. Trust the process, as they say. Not that Levadia need to trust any process right now. They are the process.

What Does This Mean Going Forward?

Look at the fixtures and Levadia are in seriously good nick coming into the next round. Two games in this competition, ten goals for, zero against. One hundred percent clean sheet rate. They are scoring for fun and not conceding anything. That is a dangerous combination.

For Caernarfon Town, this is the second time they have shipped five in this competition. Two games, ten goals against, none scored. That is a brutal campaign. And I say that with genuine respect for the club and the fans. Getting to this stage at all is an achievement for a club of their size. Welsh football representing on the European stage is always brilliant to see. But the gap in quality at this level is significant, and the scoreline reflects that honestly.

Levadia look like a team with real momentum. Two massive wins, a defence that has not been breached once, and an attack that is firing on all cylinders. You heard it here first, whoever comes up against them in the next round is going to have a very uncomfortable evening.
