The home side were the better team for large portions of this match. They just needed to cut out the wastefulness in front of goal. When they did, the result followed.
Differdange: Not Good Enough
I will say this plainly. Differdange came here and parked a goal on the stroke of half-time and then offered very little else. Their second-half performance was poor. Three red cards across both teams in this fixture, two belonging to Differdange, and their discipline cost them any chance of getting back into the match.
They finished with 40 per cent possession. Two corners. One shot on target. Three red cards across the two teams in the match and Differdange collected two of them. That is not a team that competed. That is a team that gave up when things went against them. Unacceptable.
