They only missed one of those big chances too, so their clinical edge was real. Bohemians had eleven shots, four on target, and created just one big chance. The gap in quality was there.

But here is the thing. Bohemians had 22 fouls committed against them by Midtjylland. Twenty-two. They won 22 free kicks. That is relentless. That is a team that was being kicked and fouled all night and still found a way to make it 3-2. There is character in that Bohemians side. Do not sleep on them.

The possession stats are wild as well. Midtjylland had 63 percent of the ball and completed 377 successful passes. Bohemians completed 203 with a 72 percent accuracy rate. They were not just hoofing it. They were organised, compact, and made Midtjylland work for every inch.

Right, here is the thing though. Midtjylland went into this off the back of two losses in Conference League qualifying, conceding three goals and scoring none. This was a bounce-back performance in terms of the result, but they also came into tonight with six players out injured, including two long-term absentees and two major injury cases not expected back until October or December. That injury list is a real problem.

The head-to-head record now sits at one win apiece across these two sides, with the first meeting just a week earlier ending 2-0 to Midtjylland with a clean sheet. The Danes have done enough across the two legs to go through. But they will need to be a lot more convincing if they are going to make any kind of run in this competition.
