Rangers left Falkirk with three points on Wednesday night. The scoreline read 2-1. Simple. But if you watched this match and thought it was straightforward, you were not watching the same game I was.

Listen, I have seen this a hundred times. You can dominate a match on paper and still lose. Falkirk had the ball. They moved it reasonably well. But when the moments came, they could not put the game away. Two big chances missed. An own goal gift to Rangers at 0-1. That is the basics letting you down when the pressure is on.

Their clean sheet record has been poor too. In their last ten Scottish Premiership outings before tonight, they kept just one clean sheet. Tonight they conceded again. The defensive standards are not where they need to be for a club with Rangers' expectations.
Falkirk's Problems Run Deep
Let's be honest about where Falkirk stand right now. In their last five Scottish Premiership matches before this one, they won none. Zero wins. One draw, four defeats, twelve goals conceded. In their last ten, it is two wins from ten, with twenty-six goals against.
There is a major injury listed in the squad information too, a player out since the 9th of August with no expected return date. That is the kind of disruption that can derail a side that is already struggling to compete at this level. No excuses, but it is a fact.
