Last updated: 20 April 2026. Match date: Monday 27 April 2026, Allsvenskan.
Right, so we are seven days out from what genuinely looks like one of the most interesting fixtures of the Allsvenskan weekend. Häcken at home, Sirius coming to town as the league's runaway leaders. I've been keeping an eye on this one since the last refresh and honestly... the more you look at it, the more interesting it gets.
Where Things Stand
Let's just talk about Sirius for a second. Top of the table. Nine goals scored. One conceded. One goal against. Mate, that is not a typo. They have shipped one goal all season and they are absolutely flying. The vibes coming out of that squad must be unreal right now. When a team is putting up numbers like that early on, you have to take them seriously regardless of who they are playing or where they are travelling.
Häcken are sitting seventh. Four goals scored, two conceded. Decent enough numbers in isolation but when you put them next to Sirius? It tells a story. Look at the fixtures Sirius have come through and look at what Häcken have put together so far. There is a gap between these two sides right now and pretending otherwise would be doing you a disservice.
Does that mean Häcken have no chance? Of course not. Home advantage is real. Football is not played on paper. But Sirius are not coming here to be tourists.
The Big Question for Häcken
Can they actually hurt Sirius? Four goals scored is fine. It is not electric. And the side they are facing on Monday has conceded once all season. Once. So something has to give here, right? Either Häcken find a way through that defence and we get proper scenes, or Sirius do what Sirius have been doing to everyone else and it gets uncomfortable fairly quickly.
Honestly, I reckon the key for Häcken is getting on the front foot early. You do not want to be chasing this Sirius side. Get them pinned back, make them uncomfortable, and maybe you nick something. Sit in and try to absorb pressure? I am not sure that ends well when the opposition are this fluid going forward.
Early Team News and Injury Concerns
Look, I will be straight with you. Confirmed team news is still a week out and nothing concrete has dropped yet for either side. What I would say is keep your eyes on both clubs' official channels over the next few days. With a game this big, any injury to a key figure in that Sirius setup would be massive news. They have built something tight and cohesive this season and disrupting that could open things up for Häcken.
Same goes for Häcken at home. They need their best players available and firing. Check back here as we get closer and we will have the latest confirmed news locked in.
Prediction and Match Probabilities
Alright here is where we get into it. Based on where these two sides are right now, the numbers are pretty clear about the favourite here.
Sirius win probability: roughly 52 to 55 percent. They are top of the league, best defensive record in the division, and travelling with serious confidence. Hard to argue with that.
Draw probability: around 24 to 26 percent. Always in play in a game like this. Häcken at home with something to prove could absolutely grind out a point.
Häcken win probability: around 20 to 22 percent. Home advantage bumps them up but they are the underdogs here, no question.
Now I know someone is going to come at me with xG... and look, xG is basically just football with extra steps isn't it. Bless it. But even if you want to go full spreadsheet mode on this one, the underlying numbers tell the same story. Sirius are better right now.
Betting Odds and My Take
Early market prices have Sirius as away favourites. You are looking at roughly evens to 5/6 on a Sirius win depending on your bookmaker. Häcken at home are coming in around 3/1 to 7/2. The draw is somewhere in the 5/2 to 3/1 bracket.
Always shop around. Those prices will move as we get closer to Monday.
Now. You know me. I am going big on this one for the Saturday Special... except this is a Monday game which absolutely wrecks my weekend acca. Classic. Still, I am eyeing up Sirius to win and both teams to score as a combination. Häcken have scored in their games this season. Sirius concede very little but four goals from Häcken suggests there is something there going forward. BTTS plus Sirius win is a tasty looking option. Don't @ me if it goes sideways.
If you want a correct score punt, and I know you do because you are reading a Jay Thompson preview, Sirius winning 2-1 has a certain poetry to it. Häcken nick one, Sirius nick two, everyone has limbs. Could be the one. You heard it here first.
The Bigger Picture
Look at the fixtures across the whole Allsvenskan table right now and Sirius dropping points here would be a genuine shock. They are building something. The gap between their goals scored, nine, and goals conceded, one, is almost comical at this stage of the season. That differential does not happen by accident.
Häcken are not a bad side. Seventh in the league, decent home record starting to form, and they will fancy themselves against anyone on their own turf. But trust the process... and the process right now says Sirius are the real deal.
Monday night under the lights. Proper football. I cannot wait.
