Last updated: 19 April 2026. This is your 14-day-out preview for Juventus vs Hellas Verona. Odds are starting to filter through so let's get into it.
Right, Let's Set the Scene
Juventus. Hellas Verona. The Allianz Stadium on a Sunday. On paper this looks like a mismatch and honestly... it kind of is. Juve are sitting fourth in Serie A. Verona are 19th. That is not a typo. Nineteenth. The gap between these two clubs right now is enormous and the numbers back it up completely.
Juventus have banged in 55 goals this season. Fifty-five. And they have only let in 29 at the other end. That is a goal difference of plus 26. That is not a team going through a rough patch. That is a team with genuine quality running through it.
Now look at Verona. Twenty-three goals scored all season. Fifty-five conceded. Same number as Juve have scored, which is a horrible little coincidence if you are a Verona fan. Their goal difference sits at minus 32. Mate. Minus 32. That is a side that has been leaking goals all campaign and cannot find the net often enough to make up for it.
Look at the Standings
Fourth place for Juventus tells you they are very much in the conversation for whatever they are chasing. A side with 55 goals in the bank is not short of attacking quality and fourth in Serie A means they have been consistent over a long stretch of matches. There is something working here. Whether that holds all the way to the end of the season... well, that is what May fixtures are for.
Verona in 19th though. That is deep in the danger zone. Depending on how the rest of the table shakes out they are almost certainly looking over their shoulder at relegation. A trip to the Allianz Stadium is about the last thing you want when you are fighting for your top-flight life. You want a home game against a mid-table side with nothing to play for. You do not want Juventus away. Not with those defensive numbers. Not conceding 55 in a season.
Honestly this fixture could not have come at a worse time for Verona and a better time for Juve.
The Goals Angle... And You Know Where I Am Going With This
Right so let's talk about what these numbers are screaming at me. Juventus score goals. Loads of them. Fifty-five is a big tally. Verona concede goals. Also loads of them. Fifty-five of those too. You do not need xG... actually wait, I am not going there, I promised myself I would not bring up xG without making fun of it and honestly this one is so obvious even the spreadsheet lads would just shrug and say "yeah, Juve to score a few then."
The interesting bit is whether Verona can nick one. Twenty-three goals all season is not great. That works out at well under a goal a game. Juventus's defence has conceded 29 which, for a fourth-placed side in Serie A, is reasonably solid. Not impenetrable but not a disaster either. So you are weighing up a Verona attack that has really struggled all year against a Juve defence that has been decent.
My gut? Juve score. Probably more than once. Verona... I reckon they are in for a long afternoon.
Head to Head, History, and Why It All Points One Way
Look, the data sheet I am working from does not give me a full H2H breakdown to reference here specifically so I am not going to make numbers up. What I can tell you is that the current form and league position gap is as stark as it gets. Fourth versus 19th. A goal difference of plus 26 against minus 32. This is not a fixture where you are hunting for a shock narrative. The narrative IS the gap between these two clubs right now.
Sometimes the most honest preview is the one that says... yeah, the favourite looks like the favourite for very good reasons.
Jay's Saturday Special Acca Corner
Oh you knew this was coming. I am going big on this one.
So Juventus to win is going to be fairly short. Fine. I still want it in my acca as the banker. But let me tell you where the fun is. Over 2.5 goals in this match. Given those respective goal tallies I genuinely cannot talk myself out of it. Fifty-five scored for Juve. Fifty-five conceded for Verona. Something is happening here, goals-wise. You heard it here first.
I am also eyeing a Juventus win and both teams to score. Now look, Verona have only scored 23 all season so BTTS is the riskier call. But 19th-placed sides sometimes nick a consolation late on. Sometimes a defender nods one in from a corner when the game is done. I am not ruling it out entirely. So BTTS is a cheeky add but I might swap it for Juve to win to nil if I am being sensible... and when have I ever been sensible on a weekend acca.
Correct score punt? I am going 3-0 to Juventus. Don't @ me. Fiver each way on the acca, enjoy your Sunday.
Back to the drawing board if it goes wrong. It usually goes wrong.
The Verdict
Juventus are the clear favourites here and the league standings give you every reason to back that up. Fourth versus 19th. A home side that scores freely against a side that leaks goals for fun. Verona need points desperately but this is one of the toughest places to come in Italian football.
Juve to win. Goals to flow. Verona fighting for their lives but facing a mountain at the Allianz Stadium.
See you on the other side. Come on.
